With this being my first permanently remote job, I was nervous about whether I'd be able to make a connection with my team, but I appreciate that my colleagues are always happy to pair up together on a tricky problem and that we all make time to grab lunch/snacks together a few times per week, as well as hang out and play games and get to know each other outside the work context. My ability to focus from the comfort of my home office is a massive improvement over my former job's open office space. Engineering has the opportunity to meet up at least a couple times per year in person for "Onsites" to hang out in person and work with the robots up close. The remote work culture is a perfect balance for me. Everyone (including engineers and specialists) is regularly thinking about how we can improve our services. Each project matters, so no one is ambivalent about their work. People are excited about the work and are committed to achieving the vision, which has a great contagious effect on me. Rather, there are a lot of humble yet brilliant people here, which has really meshed well with my personal values. I really appreciate that I haven't encountered arrogance.
